Steven Spielberg’s new movie “BFG” — his first with Disney — is coming out in two weeks, so it’s perfect time for him to chat about his career with The Hollywood Reporter.

“I have directed films for every studio in Hollywood except for Walt Disney — until now,” he said. “Disney was truly, when I was a kid, my singular inspiration.”

In a big interview covering his legendary career and new production group Amblin Partners, he also assured Indiana Jones fans that Harrison Ford will be around for the fifth installment of the adventure series, slated for release in 2019.

“I think this one is straight down the pike for the fans,” said Spielberg, who ribbed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” by noting, “The one thing I will tell you is I’m not killing off Harrison [Ford] at the end of it.”

Both “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” were acquired by Disney when it purchased LucasFilm in 2013.

The Oscar-winning director isn’t worried about money, either. The trade paper comments that he more as the executive producer of “Jurassic World” than did Universal, the studio that released the billion-dollar blockbuster.

(Apparently he also gets 2 percent of the ticket take from Universal Studios theme parks.)

Somewhat unbelievably, Spielberg has had a down period.

After making the Oscar-winning, Holocaust-themed “Schindler’s List,” he said, “I was sad and isolated, and as well-received and successful as that movie was, I think it was the trauma of telling the story … I started to wonder: Was ‘Schindler’s List’ going to be the last film I would direct?”

SWIFT IS SWIFT

It didn’t take too long: Taylor Swift has a new fellow.

News reports and photos show the 26-year-old pop star kissing actor Tom Hiddleston on romantic beach getaway.

It may not be that big of a surprise; the pair seemed to be having fun in May doing a dance off at the Met Gala in New York, according to gossip sites.

Some are suggesting that Hiddleston, 35, made his move as soon as he heard about Swift’s split, two weeks ago, from Calvin Harris.
