Scoop! Oscar winner weds her Urban cowboy

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in a little Catholic church Sunday in Sydney.

“We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who has sent us their warm wishes,” the couple said in a brief statement, according to The Associated Press.

The Oscar-winning actress, who wore an ivory Balenciaga gown, was walked down the aisle by her father, with her 13-year-old daughter, Isabella, as her bridesmaid, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The country singer donned a black suit, white vest and black necktie with a white rose on his lapel.

Fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman sang Peter Allen’s classic “Tenterfield Saddler” in the ceremony, which was also attended by “Moulin Rouge” director Baz Luhrmann, Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe and Rupert Murdoch. Overall, Kidman and Urban kept the wedding relatively small with an estimated 230 guests.

On the less romantic side of the marriage, Urban and Kidman (who is worth an estimated $150 million) signed a prenup. According to Life & Style Extra, if the couple breaks up, Urban will receive $600,000 a year for every year that they are married.

This is Urban’s first marriage and Kidman’s second. Kidman said “I do” to Tom Cruise in 1991, after meeting the actor on the set of 1990’s “Days of Thunder.” Both the movie and the marriage were critical flops, with Kidman and Cruise parting ways in 2001.

It’s not over ’til Justin’s new album comes out

Cameron Diaz andJustin Timberlake’s people are denying that the couple has taken the train to Splitville.

Last week, a gossip columnist reported that Timberlake gave Diaz the ol’ heave-ho so he could “sow his wild oats.”

“The couple is in fact very much together, as he prepares for the release of his album,” one of Timberlake’s blabby buddies told People. “Of course, made-up sources have had them breaking up, getting married, and having a baby ever since they began dating over three years ago.”

Sandra’s Flower power

Hey, ladies, put down that copy of “He’s Just Not That Into You” and check this out: Sandra Bullock claims that in her struggling actress days she resorted to sending herself flowers in an attempt to make a potential suitor jealous … and it worked.

“There was a guy I was really crazy about, but he would only give me the time of day when it was convenient. I ordered five dozen roses and put them in my house with cards,” the “Lake House” star told ContactMusic.com “I sent them to myself because I knew he was coming by to drop off some keys. He left, and I got a call from him right away. … We ended up dating for a very long time. I was sad about my actions and that I had to stoop to that level and it worked! And it was expensive! I had no money!”

Jessica takes a ‘Holiday’

Jessica Simpson’s new upcoming single, “A Public Affair,” sounds similar to Madonna’s “Holiday,” and when we say “similar,” we really mean “almost exactly like” Madonna’s 1984 hit.

Jessica’s daddy, Joe, told People that the new album is “Madonna meets Janet [Jackson] — it’s totally the unexpected.” And Epic Records President Charlie Walk told the Web site andPOP.com that the song has a Madonna vibe. But anyone who listens to the song will immediately notice that the song has more than just a passing Madonna “vibe” to it.

“It is a fun summer single, and comparing to retro Madonna is flattering,” Simpson’s rep told TMZ.com, which is posting both versions of the song on its site so listeners can decide for themselves.
