Matt Lauer and his wife are fuming following a tabloid story that their marriage is kaput. National Enquirer claimed the “Today” host moved out of the NYC home they share with their three children, after wife Annette accused him of cheating.
Though the story alleged that he had stayed in Vancouver after NBC’s Olympics coverage wrapped, flirting with Canadian broadcasters, Matt says he actually went home days before his crew.
“I am living in my apartment with Annette and my children as a family and a couple,” he says. “I have never moved out. I am not moving out. There is no truth to that.
“The accusations [of infidelity] are ridiculous, and I’m not going to [dignify] them with an answer. It’s not true.”
OK, Matt, we believe you. But FYI, if you say you don’t want to dignify accusations with an answer, you probably should not then go on to deny the accusations.
The Sheen is off
The official word is that they’re trying to make the marriage work, but friends of Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller insist the couple will split once his trial wraps up. The “Two and a Half Men” star reportedly has been spending time with “lingerie model” Angelina Tracy, and his wife’s pals aren’t buying the story that she’s helping him stay sober.
“The fact is that he’s being photographed coming out of her apartment, so that at some point his children can see it,” one Brooke loyalist tells the New York Daily News.
As for Brooke, “It’s all she can do to be civil when they do the child exchange” with twin sons Max and Bob, a pal says.
“Brooke told me she was making her exit plan even before the wedding. When I asked her why, she said she ‘loved’ Charlie, but they were just too different,” the friend says.
So why get married and have two kids then? We’re sure it had nothing to do with the sums she was guaranteed in a prenup longer than the federal health care bill.
Another day, another public Lindsay Lohan meltdown. A source tells the New York Post that the other night at NYC hot spot 1Oak, “Lindsay threw a fit.”
LiLo actually started an argument with two hockey players, Sean Avery and Aaron Voros of the New York Rangers, plus Sean’s girlfriend, supermodel Jessica Stam.
“Lindsay threw a fit because she wanted to be at their table near the DJ,” a second onlooker says. “But she claimed she didn’t want to sit with Aaron and said, ‘He’s my ex-boyfriend. I don’t want him anywhere near me.’ Voros denied knowing her. A drink then flew in Jessica’s face, and Lindsay demanded their table be moved out. Stam, Voros and Avery were shocked but didn’t retaliate, and Lindsay left shortly afterward.”
Lindsay, we know you’ve been self-destructive lately, but starting beef with hockey players? These guys get in fights for a living!
