Scoop! Look out, world! Paris is driving again

Friends don’t let friends get in a car with Paris Hilton. The hotel-heiress-turned-unwilling-porn-star-turned-reality-show-star-turned-actress-turned-singer was in yet another fender-bender. “The Simple Life” star backed her Range Rover into a Honda Civic in a parking garage after a shopping trip and then drove off without leaving a note with her contact information.

Oh, by the way, TMZ.com caught the whole thing on film!

Hilton’s rep Elliot Muntz says his client didn’t violate any hit-and-run laws, if that’s what you are thinking.

“Did she commit a crime? No,” Mintz told The Associated Press. “She was swarmed by paparazzi. The intensity of the lights, flashbulbs, momentarily disoriented her. She backed up, there was a minor fender-bender. No injuries. She then told me she notified one of the parking people at the facility how to contact her and asked the person to please pass that along [to the owner of the struck car]. She did the correct thing and she would not leave the scene of a crime.”

So, Hilton’s using the ol’ “blame the paparazzi” excuse, huh? Well, it worked for Britney Spears. Apparently, blaming the paparazzi is totally in. Try using the excuse the next time you are late to work.

In case you forgot, Hilton was caught parking in handicap spaces at boyfriend Matt Leinart’s apartment complex and, in November, was in the passenger seat when then-boyfriend Stavros Niachos plowed into the back of a car, which, of course, was also caught on film by TMZ.com.

Britney: ‘I’m a good mom’

Speaking of Spears, the “singer” is denying divorce rumors and claims her marriage with deadbeat Kevin Federline is “awesome.”

In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer, which will air on “Today” and “Dateline” on Thursday, Spears also defends her parenting abilities despite being caught driving her car with her baby on her lap and almost dropping her baby in front of the paparazzi.

“I know I’m a good mom,” the potential “Nanny 911” candidate told Lauer. “I did [drive] with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I’d drive.”

I’ll take therapy for $200, Alec

Between box-office duds such as “Fun with Dick and Jane” and “Elizabethtown” and his never-ending custody battle with wife Kim Basinger, Alec Baldwin just can’t catch a break.

A Los Angeles judge has requested that a psychologist evaluate the Oscar-nominated actor to determine whether he is fit to see his 10-year-old daughter, Ireland. Basinger claims that Baldwin is trying to turn Ireland against her, but Baldwin says it is Basinger who is poisoning their daughter’s mind against him.

The couple, who met on the set of the dreadful “The Marrying Man,” were married for seven years, separated in 2000 and divorced in 2002.

Carey visits ‘Tennessee’

“Glitter” be damned, Mariah Carey has snagged herself another acting role. The singer bagged the part of a waitress (the role in which Janet Jackson claims she packed on the pounds for then passed on) in the upcoming movie, “Tennessee.”

The film’s director, Lee Daniels (who produced the films “Monster’s Ball” and “The Woodman”), along with just about every other living human being, hasn’t seen Carey’s mock-tastic 2001 flop.

“He’s a risk-taker,” Carey told Time for its issue on newsstands today. “Obviously it would bea risk in a lot of people’s minds to cast me.”

“Risk” isn’t the word we would choose. We’re thinking of a word that rhymes with “lupid.”
