The shoes were Manolo Blahnik. The dress was Balmain. The lingerie was Victoria’s Secret.

Kim Kardashian may be “really so boring,” as she told the crowd at a packed Castro Theatre on Tuesday, but she’s also something else: smart.

Inforum, the Commonwealth Club’s cooler little sister, invited the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star to talk about the objectification of women in the media, but Mrs. Kanye West made it clear she’s the one in charge of her own objectification. Even the book she was hawking, “Selfish,” is a collection of selfies (“I don’t use a filter,” Kardashian proclaimed proudly).

Although fans paid up to $200 for VIP tickets and a personalized, Kardashian kept her interview with retired Judge LaDoris Cordell mostly at the surface, from clothes to the occasional lack thereof, as in her nude “Break the Internet” pictorial in Paper magazine by Jean-Paul Goude. When Cordell asked Kardashian about the larger implications of the glossy photos, which had been linked to the objectification of black women in Goude’s previous work, she demurred. Similarly, when asked about whether she identifies as a feminist, Kardashian praised strong women while insisting “I don’t like to label myself.” And in what has to be the most sought-after endorsement from the E! network, Kardashian said she hoped to see former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton become the first female president.

Kardashian was most at ease when talking about her family, including the Kardashian sister who once “borrowed” an expensive Balmain dress only to leave it crumpled in mom Kris Jenner’s office (“I’m going to kill Kylie!”). Kardashian said her stepparent Caitlyn Jenner, who very publicly transitioned from male to female last month, was “so grateful” for the response, which was “more supportive than we ever really could imagine.”

When asked by Cordell how she and husband West hoped to protect their mixed-race daughter and the son Kardashian is expecting from racism, the 34-year-old shared an uncomfortable encounter with a slur-spewing harpy on a recent flight.

Kardashian also offered the golden rules of a perfect selfie: Shoot from above to avoid a double chin, and always put yourself in the best light. And “if you’re not really feeling yourself,” she said, “you can just make it moody with dark light.”

San Francisco game developer Glu Mobile, which produced the blockbuster “Kim Kardashian: Hollywood” app and co-sponsored Tuesday’s talk, was the crux for perhaps the weirdest revelation of the night. West persuaded Kardashian to take a chance on the highly lucrative game, she said, because he’s a bona fide gamer — “Kanye got into music because he wanted to make music for videogames.” Is Glu Mobile still hiring?

AFFLECK, GARNER CONFIRM SPLIT

Believe the rumors: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are calling it quits, throwing in the towel, and moving to Splitsville (population: 2).

“We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children,” the Hollywood power couple said in a joint statement Tuesday. “This will be our only comment on this private, family matter.”

Affleck will move to a separate house on the family’s Los Angeles estate, according to The Associated Press. There was no word on whether “house” meant “doghouse.”
