Pundits already are skeptical about Monday’s finale on “The Bachelor,” in which Nick Viall proposed to Vanessa Grimaldi.

As the Hollywood Reporter calls it, “after two failed proposals on ‘The Bachelorette,’ and one stint on the ABC summer spinoff ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ the 36-year-old entrepreneur got down on one knee and popped the question to his TV love” and she “accepted with a resounding yes.”

Yet during the season, she expressed more hesitations than runner-up Raven Gates.

And on Monday’s “After the Final Rose” special, which aired live immediately following the show, the pair told host Chris Harrison they’ve had a rocky ride.

Fans on social media had no shortage of commentary about the “Final Rose” appearance, with this tweet from Lauren Light representative of their feelings: “Call me a psych major, call me a skeptic, but Nick and Vanessa look absolutely miserable together.”

In what the TV promoters like to call a twist, the show ended with the introduction of Rachel Lindsay — the first African American star of the reality show — who got to meet four contenders in the upcoming “Bachelorette.”

Observers already are calling Demario (a black man who offered up plane tickets to Las Vegas and a ring) the winner, and have called out Dean, who is white, for his quip: “I’m ready to go black, and I’m never going to go back.”

Eric, a black guy from Baltimore, danced, and Blake, who’s white, told Lindsay she “smelled good.”

The rest of the men will be introduced when the show officially starts on May 22.

Ben Affleck shared some personal news on Facebook on Monday:

“I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction,” he posted. “Something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront.”

The two-time Oscar winner thanked his estranged wife Jennifer Garner for taking care of their kids — something he might have time to help do in that he recently stepped down from directing the upcoming Batman movie.

Nat Geo WILD’s new series “Cesar Millan’s Dog Nation” is featuring San Francisco canines in an episode airing Friday that includes a visit with Pali Boucher, founder of Rocket Dog Rescue, and a stop at San Quentin to find out about a program that matches minimum security inmates with shelter dogs.
