Mother’s Day did not go without notice to many folks in the spotlight who took to social media on Sunday.

Particularly sweet and touching Instagram posts — with past and present pics featuring celebs with their moms were made by Sarah Michelle Gellar, Amy Schumer, Kris Jenner, Alicia Keys, Rebel Wilson, Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Carrie Underwood, Pink, Drew Barrymore, The Weeknd (as an infant), Joe Maganiello, Josh Duhamel, Common, Kevin Hart, Uzo Aduba, and a little Billie Lourd, with her late mom Carrie Fisher.

Derek Hough, “fortunate” enough to have three moms, posted photos with them all.

Heidi Klum put up a great shot with her own gorgeous mom (who’s surprised?) and another with her own kids, as did Reese Witherspoon, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez.

And Orlando Bloom, Debra Messing and Nicki Minaj posted nice snaps of their moms.

Meanwhile, some ridiculous critics ganged up on Seattle Seahawks football star Russell Wilson for his photo with his wife Ciara (with whom he had a baby daughter Sienna last month) who shared: “I’m grateful to get to spend the rest of my life with you & raising our kids” — meanly pointing out that Ciara’s ex-fiancé Future is the father of her 3-year-old son Future.

Refreshingly, some onlookers rightly commented: “When you marry you take on that role as a father to her child!! What’s the fuss about anyway!”

JIM PARSONS WEDS

There’s something kind of nice about the low-key news that Jim Parsons has married graphic designer Todd Spiewak.

On Sunday, People confirmed the report that the longtime couple wed.

In November, the “Big Bang Theory” star was enthusiastic about Spiewak on Instagram for their 14th anniversary. “I met this guy (the one with the mic) 14 years ago today and it was the best thing that ever happened to me, no contest,” Parsons, 44, captioned an old selfie of him and Spiewak from a karaoke session.

In May 2012, Parsons quietly come out after a profile in the New York Times matter-of-factly described him as “gay and in a 10-year relationship.”

And in his 2013 Emmy Awards acceptance speech, he called Spiewak “my favorite person on the planet.”
