Two weeks after complaining in an interview with Matt Lauer that the media won’t leave her alone, Britney Spears has agreed to take it all off for the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar.
Basically, the five-months pregnant pop “singer,” who recently dyed her blond locks black, is pulling a Demi Moore. As you might recall in the early ’90s, a seven months pregnant Moore famously posed on the cover of Vanity Fair in the buff with her hands strategically placed. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean Spears will make “Striptease 2.”
On the upcoming Bazaar cover, Mrs. Kevin Federline is wearing nothing but a necklace and a smile with her hands strategically placed over her breasts. Unlike her appearance on “Dateline,” Spears looks fantastic, but airbrushing will do that for you.
And what’s with the new dark ’do? Turns out Spears wasn’t the only one disturbed by her disheveled looks on “Dateline.”
“She felt terrible,” a source told Us Weekly. “She didn’t understand her image problem until the negative feedback about ‘Dateline.’ She pulled out her extensions and bought a bottle of dark hair dye.”
And the feud between Barbara Walters and Star Jones Reynolds continues. …Let’s summarize: On Wednesday, Reynolds was asked not to return to work on “The View” after her Tuesday announcement on the air in which she revealed she would be leaving the show in July and subsequent magazine interviews saying she was fired. Walters shot back, spilling her guts to the press, saying she felt betrayed by Reynolds.
Now, Reynolds is defending herself, calling Walters a hypocrite.
Reynolds claims that Walters sold her up the river by inviting Rosie O’Donnell to join the show, after O’Donnell launched a media attack on Reynolds when she dropped 150 pounds, which Reynolds hinted was the result of diet and exercise, but O’Donnell says was due to a gastric bypass surgery.
“Rosie had attack-ed me on every single evening entertainment pro-
gram,” the 44-year-old former lawyer told The New York Daily News. “Barbara used that week to call her and invite her to be part of a show that I helped launch nine years ago.”
For her part, O’Donnell is being unusually silent about the cat fighting, writing on her blog, “Drama is as drama does. Everybody breathe.”
Kate Moss is finally admitting the obvious: She’s not so bright sometimes.
Between getting photographed doing cocaine and her on-again, off-again relationship with professional junkie Pete Doherty, Moss says she’s made bad choices, but she’s learning from them.
“I know I’ve been really stupid and childish,” Moss told the Daily Mirror. “I mean I’m still very childish, and I always will be, but I am 10,000 times smarter than before.”
That’s great, Kate. Now here, have a sandwich.
The ladies all want a piece of Taylor Hicks now that he’s an “American Idol” champ.
Two week ago, People magazine named the gray-haired crooner thecountry’s hottest bachelor. In that issue, Hicks sung the praises of his first crush, saying he was in second grade, she was in the sixth and that ever since then he’s had, thing for older women.
Upon reading the article, Hick’s first love, Christy Lee Worsham, contacted the magazine.
“He was such a fun kid,” the 32-year-old said. “I’m married. But I’d like to reconnect. He was like a brother to me.”
Oh, no! It’s the classic, “You’re like my brother” block. Ouch.
