In a big interview with Robin Roberts, Bobby Brown admits that he and Whitney Houston didn’t do the best job with their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.

No kidding!

“We could have been better. We should have been better,” Brown tells Roberts on today’s episode of “20/20.”

Bobbi Kristina was 22 when she died in July 2015 of drowning and drug intoxication (a toxicology report found a laundry list of drugs in her system) after being found, passed out, in her bathtub in January.

“It’s not a mystery to me. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney,” Brown told Roberts.

He also reiterated his assertion that Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend at the time, Nick Gordon, 26 — who has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged in connection with her death — knows more than he is saying about both Bobbi’s and Whitney’s final moments.

Brown also told Roberts, “There’s only one person that was around both occasions. Only one person who says they were there to protect them…and he didn’t.”

In April on “The Dr. Phil Show,” Gordon said: “Regardless of what everybody thinks, I made Krissy and Whitney’s last few years on earth as happy as they would be,” he I gave them somebody to trust to, to talk to, to be there, someone genuine.”

The relationship triangle is a tad creepy: Houston took Gordon in when he was 12 and going through tough times. He was never officially adopted, but raised in Houston’s house and was friends with Bobbi Kristina before they started dating after Houston’s death (and Bobbi’s drug use apparently increased).

MILITARY MISS USA

Deshauna Barber, a 26-year-old Army Reserve officer and IT analyst from the District of Columbia is the new Miss USA.

She gave this kick-butt answer to judge Joe Zee’s sexist question about whether the Pentagon’s decision to open up all combat roles to women had “put political correctness over our military’s ability to perform,” saying: “As a woman in the U.S. Army, I think it was an amazing job by our government to allow women to integrate into every branch of the military. We are just as tough as men. As a commander of my unit, I’m powerful, I am dedicated and it is important that we recognize that gender does not limit us.”

Meanwhile, Miss California Nadia Mejia — daughter of “Rico Suave” rapper Gerardo Mejia — is enjoying her 15 minutes of fame after taking knocks for a lame response to a question about narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor (that U.S. politicians can’t answer) with a funny Instagram post making fun of herself, singing with Backstreet Boy Howie D,

Barber beat first runner-up Chelsea Hardin, Miss Hawaii, and second runner-up Emanii Davis, Miss Georgia, and unlike Steve Harvey, co-hosts Julianne Hough and Terrence Jenkins announced the winners without messing things up.
