Scoop: Billie Joe Armstrong sang at Zuckerberg-Chan wedding for free

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong told Andy Cohen that he played Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding — for no charge.

“What was the craziest thing that made you go, oh man, this guy’s rich? And, is it true that you performed for free?” the TV host asked the rock star on Tuesday’s “Watch What Happens: Live.”

“Yeah uh, so I did perform for free, he was kind of like a Green Day fan, almost in a nerdy kind of way. Which was really endearing and uh, there was nothing about it where I thought that it looked like he had a ton [of money] the way that he lives, it fits his age, I would say,” Armstrong answered.

Armstrong sang “Last Night on Earth” at the Facebook founder’s surprise wedding to Priscilla Chan in 2012.

He told Cohen, ““Mark wanted me to play this song … this song is one that I wrote for my wife of 18 years. It better be for her, or I’d be in deep trouble.”

Armstrong also said his “dream band” would be The Who’s Keith Moon on drums, Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols on guitar, Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath on bass and himself singing.

Appearing on the show with “Saturday Night Live” comedy great Molly Shannon, they both said it would be OK for their kids to “quit school to tour with their band.”

And in a game called “Are They An American Idiot?,” Armstrong had no problem naming Chris Christie, Ryan Lochte, Anthony Weiner, Scott Baio and homophobic Kentucky clerk Kim Davis “idiots.”

Brad Pitt, Taylor Swift, the Kardashians and Miley Cyrus were not idiots, according to Armstrong.

HEAVY PUMPKINS

Cindy Tobeck, a third-grade schoolteacher from Littlerock, Wash., is the winner of the 2016 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in Half Moon Bay.

Her giant gourd, which weighed in at 1,910-pounds, will be on view (along with the contest’s next four heaviest entrants) Saturday and Sunday at the 46th annual Art & Pumpkin Festival on Main Street.

Visitors may pose for photo with the pumpkin for $15, to benefit the Cabrillo Education Foundation.

The Great Pumpkin Parade, with former San Francisco Giant Rich Aurilia as grand marshal, is at noon Saturday.

QUICK TAKES

Science research organization Elsevier released a report that says ice cream made with natural antioxidant ingredients including cocoa, hazelnuts and green tea may “improve vascular function and physical performance in healthy individuals.” Note: That doesn’t mean loading up on Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. … Rob Lowe’s hairstylist Jason Schneidman compared the actor’s new edgy haircut to Jennifer Aniston’s “Rachel.”
