It’s over between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Mrs. Depp filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, after 15 months of marriage.
In the papers, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court (gossip site TMZ has them posted!), Heard seeks spousal support from her Oscar-nominated, gorgeous, and often hard-to-read ex.
TMZ points to harsh timing of the action, given that Depp’s beloved mother Betty Sue Palmer died just last week, at 81.
(However, Depp, making the rounds promoting his new movie “Alice Through the Looking Glass” made a surprise visit on Jimmy Kimmel’s show Monday, surprising Pink, Kimmel’s official guest, and kissing Kimmel on the lips.)
Depp and Heard, who met while appearing in the 2011 movie “The Rum Diary,” have no children together.
Aside from their union itself (he’s 52, she’s 30) the actors made news last year after illegally smuggling their Yorkshire Terriers Boo and Pistol into Australia. To avoid conviction, they taped a weird video apology.
Depp has one previous marriage and was in a long relationship with actress and model Vanessa Paradis, with whom has two children, Lily Rose and Jack.
CURLY SUE NO MORE
The winner of season 10 of “The Voice” is none other than Alisan Porter — the former child star best known for her role in the ho-hum (and we’re being kind) 1991 John Hughes’ flick “Curly Sue.” On Tuesday, she took the contest’s top honor, beating fellow finalists Hannah Huston, Laith Al-Saadi and Adam Wakefield.
Her win also marks the first victory for her coach Christina Aguilera, who’s now the only female coach to ever have a winner on the series.
During her blind audition on the show’s season premiere, Adam Levine predicted her rise after hearing her sing Roy Orbison’s “Blue Bayou” (made famous by Linda Ronstadt).
“That was the most beautiful, flawless, passionate, pitch-perfect thing I have ever heard in my entire life,” he told her at the time. “I’m astonished by you. … You’re going to win ‘The Voice.’”
San Francisco’s Dominique Crenn of Atelier Crenn is among the luminaries appearing in season 2 of Netflix’s streaming series “Chef’s Table,” which premieres May 27. Other featured chefs include: Alex Atala of Dom in Brazil; Ana Ros of Hiša Franko in Slovenia; Enrique Olvera of Pujol in Mexico; Gaggan Anand or Gaggan in Thailand; and French Laundry alumnus Grant Achatz of Alinea in Chicago.
