Keira Knightley is back on the market, folks. The British beauty split up with her longtime beau, actor Rupert Friend, whom she met in 2005 when both starred in “Pride and Prejudice.”
“Yes, they have broken up,” Keira’s father, Will, told the U.K.’s Sun. “But that’s the way things go, unfortunately. The only option is to get on with things.” (How very English!)
Why the rift? Tension apparently grew over the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s fame.
“Rupert hates the idea of being followed and photographed. Keira partially had to accept it because of her rising profile,” a friend said. “It affected the harmony in the relationship. The pressure took its toll and both decided they should go their separate ways. They will remain lifelong friends.”
As usual, it is all the paparazzi’s fault!
Team Holly vs. Team Crystal! We were not surprised to learn that Holly Madison had mixed feelings about former love Hugh Hefner’s engagement — but we did not realize there was bad blood between her and his betrothed, Crystal Harris.
Asked by People magazine to comment on the Playboy Mansion’s new mistress, Holly’s buddy Josh Strickland — and co-star on her reality TV show, “Holly’s World” — said, “We don’t really know her that well, but the few times we’ve seen her, it’s been a cold shoulder. We really haven’t done anything to her.”
Crystal’s manager countered, saying, “Crystal has always been extremely friendly to Holly, and if that wasn’t the case, then Holly wouldn’t be continuing to return to the mansion. She doesn’t understand why Holly and Josh would make these allegations.
She has no ill feelings toward Holly at all. Crystal believes this is a misunderstanding. I know her very well, and I’ve never heard her say an unkind word about anyone.”
When Nicole Kidman insisted a few years back that she had never used Botox and was “completely natural,” it definitely raised some eyebrows — among those who, unlike her, could move theirs. Now, however, the “Rabbit Hole” star has fessed up to using the facial injections.
“I’ve tried a lot of things, but aside from sports and good nutrition, most things don’t make a difference,” the Aussie actress told a German magazine, before adding, “I have also tried Botox.”
However, the fair-skinned beauty maintains she has kicked the habit, saying, “I didn’t like how my face looked afterwards. Now I don’t use it anymore — I can move my forehead again!”
Probably a wise decision for someone whose job requires the ability to show emotion.
People with substance abuse issues have different ways of realizing their problems. For Tim McGraw, who has been sober for three years, it was a wake-up text.
“I only learned how to text because back when I was drinking, I would get in trouble when I would call my wife and she would find out I was drinking,” the “Country Strong” star, married to fellow country superstar Faith Hill, told Popeater. “And then I started slurring my texts and I figured hell, I gotta quit drinking.”
Drink-and-texters out there — you know who you are — consider this a cautionary tale.
