A woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint in the Excelsior district early Sunday morning, police said.

The 26-year-old victim left her home near Vienna Street and Silver Avenue about 8:15 a.m. when she saw a suspicious black sedan with dark tinted windows drive past her then made a quick u-turn, police said. The victim told police that a teenaged boy got out of the vehicle and started walking toward her while a man in his 40s remained in the car. The victim then heard someone running up behind her and turned around to see it was the teenager holding a silver handgun.

The victim threw her purse to the ground and attempted to flee but was grabbed by the teen, who tried to drag her into a carport, police said. The victim fought the suspect and was able to flee while the suspect ran off in an unknown direction.

The victim lost her cellphone, purse, cash, ID, and house and work keys.

No arrests have been made.
