Despite her record-breaking record sales, Whitney Houston was reduced to asking friends for handouts at the time of her death, according to reports.
The singer had a $100 million contract in 2001 and had sold 170 million records — but allegedly years of substance abuse sucked her bank account dry.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, the “Greatest Love of All” singer got a $1 million-plus loan from her mentor Clive Davis in order to settle her debts and go to rehab. But — although the official cause of death has not been established — by all appearances, Whitney tragically lost her struggle with her demons in the end. And if she really burned through all of that money … then her problems must have been far greater than the public even realized.
If Kim Kardashian is indeed getting back together with beau Reggie Bush, she has the blessing of her sister Khloe — who is notoriously tough on her siblings’s suitors.
“I love ‘The Bush and The Tush,’” Khloe, who is married to basketball player Lamar Odom, proclaimed to Ryan Seacrest. “You can’t do much better than that.”
But as for whether the former lovebirds are on again — considering they were recently spotted getting cozy at lunch — Khloe demurred, “I think they both were just at the same place at the same time. I don’t think they were on a date together.”
For his part, Reggie has quashed the rumors, insisting to TMZ he is not dating Kim again — and they were just enjoying an innocent lunch.
But is he telling the truth … or just trying to put the kibosh on the media attention they’re getting? Or wait, is this a double-negative-reverse-psych-out gambit to get MORE media attention? We can never tell when Kardashians are involved.
Sophia Bush is relieved “One Tree Hill” is wrapping for good, according to Us magazine, because she has split with her third real-life beau from the series, Austin Nichols — who happens to play her husband. (The actress was famously briefly wed to Chad Michael Murray and dated co-star James Lafferty.)
Frankly, we’re just shocked that show lasted this long!
