Victim loses game of keep away

A man who had his iPhone pilfered from him on the 38-Geary by a couple of chunky teenage girls couldn’t win a battle of keep away.

Last Sunday at about 6:40pm, the victim was on an outbound 38-Geary that stopped at Geary Boulevard and Presidio Avenue. The victim was sitting near the rear exit door with I-phone in hand.

The two female juveniles who had been sitting behind him exited the bus and one of them snatched the phone from his hand.

“The victim gave chase and caught the suspect,” according to police. “That suspect threw the phone to her cohort and a game of keep-away ensued. At one point one of the girls dropped the phone and, as the victim went to pick it up, the suspects pushed him and successfully took control of the phone again.”

The suspects were described only as being 15-20 years of age with “heavy builds.” One was wearing a baseball cap and a dark colored varsity jacket; the other was wearing a black baseball jacket and ripped blue jeans.
