Two pedestrians hit by Muni train

Two pedestrians were hit by a Muni light-rail vehicle on Ocean Avenue on Wednesday, sending one to the hospital.

The accident involved an inbound KT-Ingleside-Third train and occurred around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Ocean and Capitol Street, Muni spokesman Murray Bond said.

Two people were apparently crossing the street at the intersection, one on each side of the tracks, and the light-rail vehicle sideswiped them both, according to preliminary information, Bond said.

One of the pedestrians was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, while the other refused medical attention, he said.

Police and Muni safety officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
