Transient man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in South San Francisco 

A transient man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after choking his girlfriend in a South San Francisco hotel Friday night, according to South San Francisco police.

Derrick Taylor, 23, was arrested after allegedly punching and choking his 19-year-old girlfriend in a South San Francisco hotel at about 1:30 a.m. on Friday.

The two had been arguing when Taylor struck the teenage woman with his fists and choked her. She fought Taylor off, fled to another room, and called the police, according to police.

Arriving officers arrested Taylor, and the victim was treated for minor injuries sustained in the fight.
