While this tale starts out as a sterling example of civic cooperation, you can't expect much from humans that urinate like dogs in front of San Francisco homes.

Police were called to a bizarre incident around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in which a man peed on the sidewalk in the unit block of Duboce Avenue. After a neighbor cronfronted him about it, he offered to clean it up.

But the clean-up job never happened and the resident ended up slapped in the face and thrown to the ground, San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Now police are hunting the vermin who fled after defiling the sidewalk and beating up the neighbor, a 49-year-old man.

The neighbor told police he confronted a 5-foot 4-inch, 160-pound man who was peeing in front of his house. The suspect apologized for the vile act and agreed to clean it up. The victim joined the suspect on the walk to the store, where they planned to purchase cleaning supplies, Esparza said.

But then a third person became involved, a friend of the urinating man, and all hell broke loose. The pal began arguing with the resident and slapped him. When the resident pulled out his cellphone to call police, the suspect grabbed the phone and threw it to the ground, Esparza said.

That led to a brawl. The suspects ganged up on the resident, throwing him twice to the ground, Esparza said.

The goons then fled southbound on Woodward Street, where they hopped into a car and sped off.

During the fight, the victim suffered scrapes and bruises and his head struck the pavement, Esparza said. He was treated for nonlife threatening injuries at the California Pacific Medical Center’s Davies Campus, the police spokesman said.

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the weak-bladdered buffoons. The man who peed is Hispanic and in his late 20s. He had black hair, dark eyes and wore a San Francisco 49ers jacket and dark colored jeans and boots, Esparza said.

His brutish pal, a 6-foot-tall white man, had brown hair and was last seen wearing a T-shirt and dark-colored pants.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the SFPD’s Anonymous Tip Line at (415) 575-4444 or send a text message to “Text-A-Tip” at TIP-411.
