Temporary taxi stand at AT&T Park approved for playoffs

Giants fans who plan on attending next week’s National League Championship Series will have a few more resources to get to AT&T Park.

After griping about the lack of taxi stands outside of AT&T Park, cab companies were awarded with a new temporary waiting zone near the baseball stadium.

The new stand will be at Third and King streets, complementing existing waiting areas at Second and King, Fourth and Townsend, and Second and Brannan, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, which manages cab operations in San Francisco.

The Giants are scheduled to play home games on Tuesday and Wednesday, and, if necessary, on Thursday of next week.
