Supervisor Eric Mar proposes fee waiver for stair railing replacement

Supervisor Eric Mar wants to eliminate permit fees for a re-installation of a stairwell railing at 48th Avenue and Balboa Street. The fee is $150, according to a previous report.

“The ordinance waives the permitting fees for a potentially dangerous stairway railing,” Mar said. “The railing there previously was unpermitted and was knocked down accidently.”

Mar said that his office had been working with residents and seniors living on the hill in the area, who were having a difficult time on the stairwell without the railing.

“The fee waiver will make it easier for the community and residents and property owners in the neighborhood to replace the railing,” he said.
