Stanford, Cal softball teams eliminated from postseason 

The Stanford and Cal softball teams have both have their fair share of success on the national stage over the years. But this season, neither will be playing in a super regional.

Stanford fell 10-5 to Nebraska in the Lincoln Regional on Sunday, while Cal dropped a 3-1 game to host Michigan in the Ann Arbor Regional, ending both schools’ season.

Senior pitcher Teagan Gerhart threw her final game in a Stanford uniform, ending the year 21-13 overall.

BASEBALL

STANFORD 7, CAL 3

Stanford pounded out 14 hits to cap off a three-game sweep of rival Cal, the Cardinals’ first sweep on the Bears’ home turf since 2003. Lonnie Kauppila paced the Stanford attack with three hits.

TENNIS

STANFORD 4, GEORGIA 1

The No. 12 Stanford women’s tennis team ripped off four singles wins and received a three-set clincher from Krista Hardebeck to knock off No. 4 Georgia in the NCAA tournament quarterfinals. Next up is a semifinal today against
No. 1 Florida (26-2, 12-1 SEC), which eliminated Cal 4-2 on Sunday.

CREW

The No. 2 Cal women’s rowing team captured its sixth straight Pac-12 Championship with victories in the varsity four and second varsity en route to the title. Stanford finished fifth.
