An 8,000-sqaure foot Mission warehouse could soon be a thriving bowling alley and restaurant judging by the warm reception from the Small Business Commission Monday.
The commissioner recommended approval of legislation that would permit the sale of alcohol in the bowling alley.
“We’re excited about the possibility of a neighborhood-serving business and bowling area opening up in District 6, which is already transit rich and has a lot of families that already live in the area,” said Supervisor Jane Kim, who introduced the legislation, during the hearing.
“The loss of bowling alleys in San Francisco has really hurt making The City a family-friendly city,” said Kim.
Commissioner Janet Clyde praised the proposal. “It is great to see The City supporting a really innovative, creative business model,” she said.
Sommer Peterson, owner of the Mission Bowling Club project, said that while the law allows her to serve alcohol in the restaurant it wouldn’t allow customers to take the alcohol to the lanes, which would poise a number of challenges.
