SFPD investigating sergeant’s Bay Bridge joyride claim - VIDEO

This cop truly has tunnel vision.

San Francisco police Sgt. Carl T — yes, T is his legal last name — is in hot water after posting a video to Facebook saying he and pals drove 100 mph in a Lamborghini through the Broadway Tunnel. To top it all off, T wrote, “Plus, we were all drunk.”

The Police Department launched an internal investigation after the local blog SFist first reported the story.

The sergeant — who reportedly had his last name changed from Tennenbaum because his bosses wouldn’t let him write “Sgt. Carl T” on his badge — later claimed he wasn’t being truthful. The car never went that fast, he told SF Weekly.

“There was no drunkenness,” he said. “I’ve done some crazy stuff, but I’m not that stupid.”

An SFist commenter pointed out that the video showed the Lamborghini took 18 seconds to clear the tunnel, which is 0.37 miles.

“That would put him at 74mph assuming everything’s relatively accurate,” the comment said.

The speed limit in the tunnel is 35 mph.
