Police are hunting a violent perv who strangled, punched, slapped and sexually assaulted a woman in the Mission district Friday after she couldn’t produce cash.

A sketch of the suspect was released Monday in connection with the attack in the area of 24th and Potrero streets.

The pervert began following the victim at South Van Ness Avenue around 3 a.m. When she reached Potrero Street, he demanded cash. She didn’t have any money, police said.

He grabbed her and brought her to a nearby location, then attacked her. He fled on foot from Potrero Street toward 25th and Alabama streets, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man with medium to light complexion between 35 and 50 years old. He stands between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds, police said.

He was wearing athletic apparel at the time of the attack, including a light gray hoodie with a front zipper, blue cotton running pants and possibly black and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the San Francisco Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to “TIP411” and reference “SFPD.”
