WHAT:
Donation-only policy makes it easy to come and relax

INFO:
(415) 355-9642 or www.urbanflowyoga.com

Positive energy abounds at Urban Flow — lots of natural light and inspiring music. The donation-only policy breaks down the boundaries to getting me on my mat more often!

FAVORITE PLACE FOR INTERNAL CLEANSING

Avra Organic Spa

WHERE:
505 Beach St., Suite 130, between Jones and Leavenworth streets

WHAT: Change your relationship with your insides

INFO:
(415) 351-1500 or www.avraorganicspa.com

The staff is very professional and the spa is clean and relaxing. The treatments will change your relationship with your insides, for the better!

FAVORITE CLOTHING STORE

Lululemon Athletica

WHERE:
327 Grant Ave., between Sutter Street and Harlan Place

WHAT:
Athletic wear that you can wear on a night out

INFO: (415) 402-0914 or www.lululemon.com

I love the design details and the fit of the groove pants. Lululemon clothing stands the test of everyday athletic wear, and it can be dressed up for a night out.

FAVORITE PLACE TO CREATE REAL CONNECTIONS

Cafe Gratitude

WHERE:
2400 Harrison St., at 20th Street

WHAT:
A reminder to throw off your cynicism and embrace joy

INFO:
(415) 830-3014 or www.cafegratitude.com

The food is delicious, especially the desserts, but the best thing here is the opportunity to talk about connection, being present and love.

FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT

El Farolito

WHERE:
2779 Mission St., between 23rd and 24th streets

WHAT:
The spot for late-night grub

INFO:
(415) 824-7877 or www.elfarolitoinc.com

After my husband is done photographing a nightclub party or society event, we head over to the mission to watch the guys at El Farolito making fresh carne asada in the window. Then we order big plates and grab all three kinds of salsas. The bill is typically under $15.

FAVORITE VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT

Tin

WHERE:
937 Howard St., between Fifth and Mary streets

WHAT:
Hearty helpings of pho on the cheap

INFO:
(415) 882-7188 or www.tinsf.com

All I want is a big bowl of pho at a low price, in decent surroundings. And here it is! The new owners have made the interior more modern, they but haven’t raised the prices.

FAVORITE INTERACTIVE RESTAURANT

Supperclub SF

WHERE:
657 Harrison St., between Third and Hawthorne streets

WHAT: Great spot for a unique dining experience

INFO:
(415) 348-0900 or www.supperclub.com

The staff here is so creative and fun — I love to see the new acts and costumes they come up with. The lengthy dinner service lets me have a conversation with guests during dinner as well as enjoy the show. And the food is great too!

FAVORITE PLACE TO TAKE OUT-OF-TOWNERS

De Young Museum

WHERE:
Golden Gate Park, 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive

WHAT:
Cool sculptures, and the tower has a terrific view

INFO: (415) 750-3600; www.famsf.org

I love the museum cafe and the surrounding sculpture gardens. The view from the tower at the De Young is perfect for new visitors to see the layout of The City without freezing to death.
