Usually, a new baby has a way of bringing families together. That’s not the case with Jon Voight and his daughter Angelina Jolie, though.
Voight says he and Jolie have not made peace and he hasn’t seen 6-week-old Shiloh Nouvel yet. Of course, Voight saw the pictures of Shiloh, Jolie and the baby’s daddy, Brad Pitt, in People magazine.
"I never saw Angie’s face more happy. Deep, deep peace that never has been there before until this. Beautiful, beautiful look. Both Brad and Angie looked so happy," Voight told People magazine at the Los Angeles premiere of "You, Me and Dupree." "I haven’t seen Shiloh yet. I’m looking forward to it."
Notice Voight never admits the real reason Angelina doesn’t speak to him — "Anaconda."
Tell us what you want, what you really, really want. … Eddie Murphy is dating former Spice Girl Mel B.
The 45-year-old actor and the woman formerly known as ScarySpice, 31, were introduced by mutual friends about three weeks ago.
"Mel has told friends he is the one. Within a few days, she had his name tattooed on her hip. He has a matching one with her name," a source told The Daily Mirror. "Mel is very impulsive. She’s been saying how great he is and how she’s never met anyone like him."
Lest you think it’s a strange pairing, let’s set the record straight. Murphy and Mel have a lot of things in common.
They are both divorced with children. Murphy ended his marriage to model Nicole Mitchell in April and they have six children. Mel called it quits with Jimmy Gulzar after a two-year marriage and they have a 6-year-old daughter.
Murphy and Mel have both starred in less-than-stellar movies ("Pluto Nash" and "Spice World" anyone?)
And, let’s not forget, that neither has been relevant since the ’90s.
Sadly, those rumors that Britney Spears is retiring from music are untrue.
The alleged singer (Has anyone actually ever seen and/or heard Brit sing? We’ve only seen her lip-sync.) says motherhood won’t be slowing her down.
"At one point, I was thinking about becoming a home mom, but when my son sees me dance he lights up," Spears told Star Pulse. "I know that’s what I’m supposed to be doing. If mom is happy, baby’s happy."
Please note that she didn’t say her singing makes the baby happy.
Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie just have to keep faking it.
The former best friends forever will be forced to work together again as E! has renewed "The Simple Life" for another season, despite the fact that the two dueling gossip-page regulars refuse to even be in the same room.
The fifth season of the reality show will air in 2007.
You know, instead of these contrived situations in which Richie and Hilton pretend to shock regular people with their ignorance and foul mouths, perhaps a camera could just follow them around. We would love to see what Richie and her latest man, Jeff Goldblum, talk about on their dates. Not food, we assume.
