Tom Cruise isn’t too famous to say he’s sorry.
Brooke Shields said the "Mission: Impossible" star apologized in person on Thursday for bashing her in the press for her use of antidepressants after the birth of her first daughter.
"He came over to my house, and he gave me a heartfelt apology," Shields said in her Friday night appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." "And I didn’t feel at any time that I had to defend myself, nor did I feel that he was trying to convince me of anything other than the fact that he was deeply sorry. And I accepted it."
Cruise’s rep confirmed that the actor’s "Sorry I called you crazy" bouquet had in fact healed Cruise and Shields’ friendship.
"It is true that his friendship with Ms. Shields has been mended," spokesman Arnold Robinson told The Associated Press. "He has not changed his position about antidepressants, which as evidenced by the black label warnings issued by the FDA on these types of drugs, are unhealthy."
Hey Tom, where’s our apology for "The Last Samurai"?
Oh, Lance! Not you, too!

They say you should never date people you work with, but Hilary Swank is throwing caution to the wind.
Recently separated Swank and her new man, John Campisi, who just so happens to be her agent and is going through a divorce of his own, were spotted kissing and cuddling all over Rome.
"They were hugging and touching all the time," a witness told People magazine.
So, how did the couple’s work relationship get personal? Apparently it started when the two-time Academy Award-winning actress, who separated from her husband of eight years, Chad Lowe, needed a date for Vanity Fair’s Oscar party in March.
"It’s only very recently that they’ve become close," one of Swank’s big-mouthed buddies told People. "They’re having a great time getting to know each other."
Speaking of dating people you work with, Ashlee Simpson, who has been romantically involved with her bassist Braxton Olita for a while now, was observed flirting with Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz.
According to PageSix.com, the less-popular Simpson sis was at Jessica’s roller-skating CD launch party at New York’s Roxy nightspot when she was spotted sending out the "I’m just that into you" vibe to Wentz, which continued as the bash moved to nightclub G-Spa.
Guess Ashlee really likes bassists. …
