She seems to be giddy over her new romance with rocker John Mayer. But for Jessica Simpson, getting over ex-husband Nick Lachey wasn’t easy. The former "Newlyweds" star admits that seeing Nick move on to date other women after their separation was painful.
"Oh, it hurt me. Two or three weeks later? Yeah, I’d say it kind of hurt me," Jessica confesses to Elle magazine in a new cover story.
Still, Nick will always be "a part of my life," says Jess. "Any guy who’s going to be with me from this day forward has to understand that."
Today, Jessica hints, her heart is on the mend — she’s just more press-shy this time around: "I want to tell you everything, but I have to sew my lips together. It’s hurt me in the past."
Actor Ryan O’Neal, 65, was arrested at his Malibu home on suspicion of assaulting son Griffin, 42, with a gun in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Griffin was not injured, but his pregnant girlfriend Joanne Berry, 22, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
The "Love Story" star spent five hours in custody before getting out on $50,000 bail.
Ryan later explained that he acted in response to Griffin angrily swinging a fireplace poker around: "[He] aimed at my head, I ducked, he hit his own girlfriend in the head," Ryan told the L.A. Times. "I got a little nervous at that point and fled to my room ... and I got my gun." When Griffin approached, "I just fired [the gun] into the [stairway] banister, and that scared him and he fled."
However the incident started, let’s hope the O’Neal clan gets some help — violence is no way to work through family conflict.
Rapper Eminem’s twice-divorced ex-wife, Kim, is finally speaking out about the couple’s tempestuous love-hate relationship of almost 20 years. In a new interview with "20/20," she explains why they got remarried last year and just as suddenly split after a few months.
Though she and Em, aka Marshall Mathers, met as struggling teens, Kim says the "8 Mile" star’s success didn’t bring happiness. "Him being on the road and on tour … [meant] constant infidelities, all the time," she says.
As for their reunion, Kim recalls, "I came home from being incarcerated in rehab and he asked me to stay a few nights at the house, so I could be with the kids. A few nights turned into a few weeks, to a year. I was home a year and a half, almost two years before we got married."
But one night, Kim says, after she argued with his brother, Eminem left the house — and never came back. Next thing she knew, Kim was served with divorce papers.
Something tells us these two are better off apart.
It’s not just the ladies who are speaking out about their broken hearts today. Representing for the sensitive men is Ryan Phillippe, who has opened up about the past few months, since his split from wife Reese Witherspoon, being "the most difficult time in my life." Ryan admitted in an interview with "Extra" that he is still reeling from the painful breakup of their seven-year marriage: "I have not found balance in my life yet."
Without commenting on rumors of an on-set dalliance with his "Stop Loss" co-star Abbie Cornish, the actor acknowledged thatgossip is difficult for him as co-parent of daughter Ava, 7, and son Deacon, 3. "It’s unfortunate when you have kids ... but I signed up for this and have to deal with it. I don’t read the magazines or watch the shows. ... It’s hard when people follow me to my kid’s school."
Yet despite the emotional strain, Ryan’s priorities remain clear: "I must stay focused on my kids."
