Scoop: Mystery surrounds Casey Johnson's death

What caused the shocking death of Casey Johnson at age 30? The Johnson & Johnson heiress, who had just recently made tabloid headlines for an alleged burglary and a sensational engagement to Tila Tequila, was in the papers again after her body was found Monday by a housekeeper at her West Hollywood home. The socialite, a longtime pal of Paris and Nicky Hilton, had apparently been dead for several days.

Though foul play is not suspected, the Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into Casey’s death. The troubled blond beauty was said to be diabetic, and TMZ reports that she had been hospitalized twice in a diabetic coma — at least once within the past year. Insulin syringes were reportedly found in her home after her death.

Meanwhile, fiancée Tequila reportedly speculated to a Radar Online source that her “wifey” died from a drug overdose. Casey allegedly had been cut off by her wealthy family, contributing to her addiction problems, and her mother recently took custody of her adopted daughter Ava, 3.

Last month, Jasmine Lennard, the model pal whose home Casey allegedly broke into, told the New York Post that the Johnson family had “tried and tried to help her, but she won’t listen to their pleas to go to rehab. Her father desperately wants her to get help, but she won’t listen.”

“They supported her lifestyle for a long time, but, lately, they’d been keeping their distance from her, trying to show some tough love,” a friend told the New York Daily News. “I’m sure they’re devastated and racked with guilt.”

No doubt. What a sad and untimely end for the ultimate “poor little rich girl.”

Romance for Rihanna

Almost a year after the shocking assault that ended her relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna appears to have found love — or at least a little fun — again.

The Barbadian beauty has been spotted canoodling with L.A. Dodgers player Matt Kemp — and by “canoodling” we mean “groping each other like teenagers.”

The couple have been on holiday in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where cameras caught them frolicking on the deck of a boat. (By “frolicking,” we mean “his hands were planted firmly on her booty.”)

Spotted poolside Monday, the new couple “couldn’t keep their hands off of each other,” an onlooker confided to People, adding that they “kept kissing while gazing out over the ocean.”

“Rihanna wants the world to know that she is happy with Matt,” one source says. (By “the world,” we presume she means Chris.)

One blog source says it may be the real thing: “Rihanna and Matt are starting to get serious — he even followed her to Dubai for New Year’s. Rihanna likes him because he’s such a gentleman ... and super-sexy!”

Definitely good qualities in a guy. Let’s hope RiRi has found someone who’ll treat her right this time.

Robsten in ’10

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are playing coy about their romance … but an enterprising fan busted them ringing in 2010 together, People reports. C’mon, guys, the jig is up!

The on-and-reportedly-offscreen “Twilight” lovers were sighted on New Year’s Eve at a seaside resort town 80 miles outside London. After they posed for photos with a young girl — and those photos were posted online, natch — local Twihards embarked on a fruitless search for the pair.

Well, hey, this proves nothing. Plenty of platonic friends go on vacation together, right? And it’s not like New Year’s Eve is a romantic holiday or anything.
