Is Hollywood’s hottest new couple already over? Only recently, Jennifer Aniston was glued to John Mayer’s side while he toured the U.S. But the musician just took a getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, without his girlfriend … and after their time apart, multiple sources tell People, they decided to part ways permanently.
“They had a great time together but they are just in different places in their lives right now,” one explains.
However, Us Weekly magazine claims the pair are just, well, on a break. (Insert ironic reference to Ross and Rachel on “Friends.”)
“It is really a cooling-off, not this big, dramatic breakup,” a friend of both tells the tabloid. “These are mature people who talk about things maturely. It’s just slowed down.”
Another tells the tabloid that John, 30, got cold feet when Jen, 39, expressed her desire for a baby.
But a John pal tells People magazine that there’s still hope: “He never ends things with a clean slate. He likes to dwell on these relationships and sort everything out before saying goodbye for good.”
And then he proceeds to say goodbye for good.
“Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere’s dad insists his arrest for allegedly assaulting wife Lesley was just “a misunderstanding.” Alan and Lesley Panettiere told Mario Lopez of “Extra” that “nothing actually happened.”
“In fact, Lesley wasn’t even aware that Skip [Alan’s nickname] had been arrested,” Mario relays. “They love each other very much and want everyone to know that the matter was completely blown out of proportion.”
And yet Alan was charged with felony domestic assault because, per the police report, Lesley had visible bruising on her face. Odd.
What a difference a year makes! In that time, Britney Spears appears to have come full circle.
The last time she was slated to do a confessional interview with OK!, magazine in July 2007, the then-trainwreck notoriously stormed off the set of the photo shoot. But now, the pop star appears smiling and radiant on the tabloid’s cover, accompanied by her two sons, and has given her first real interview in two years.
The interviewer who sat down with Britney in her living room told the New York Post (which reports that the tell-all talk netted Brit $1 million) that the formerly volatile singer was “polite, pleasant and cooperative,” adding, “She looked terrific. She’s absolutely rock-solid from working out.”
Even more exciting news for fans: The new, improved Brit says the “more urban” new album she’s working on is “my best work ever.”
And, among other revelations, she says she doesn’t want her boys to follow in her child-star footsteps and pursue careers in entertainment.
“I’d just as soon they have a more normal childhood,” Britney said.
Right, because appearing on tabloid covers is totally normal for toddlers.
