Scoop! Cam vs. paparazzi: Dueling police reports

Things are getting violent in the Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake vs. the paparazzi war.

As the couple was leaving a friend’s Hollywood Hills home just after midnight Wednesday, an overzealous photographer jumped out of the bushes, snapped some photos, jumped into his car and allegedly almost ran Diaz over. Luckily, Diaz jumped out of the way.

The newly brunette star filed a police report and the photographer could be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. No arrests have been made.

Celebrity photo agency X17 has admitted it hired the photographer, but denies any wrongdoing. In fact, in a written statement the agency claims that Diaz and Timberlake assaulted the photographer, who was, in turn, trying to flee a perilous situation. The photographer is considering filing charges of his own against the couple.

‘The photographer was attempting to leave what he perceived to be a dangerous situation for him and when he tried to do so, Ms. Diaz and at least one other member of her entourage stood in front of his car in an attempt to entrap him," the agency said.

Mischa: I’m not self-centered … anymore

Mischa Barton was worried that success was going to her head.

The former "O.C." star, who called in sick and threw hissy fits before leaving the show in May, claims she is a reformed diva.

"I was becoming too high-maintenance. Actors start talking about themselves as if they are the most important people on Earth — I was no different. … For most of us all it’s all about, ‘Me, me, me.’ It’s a mad business," Barton told Life & Style Extra. "The self-absorption can take over your life. And the younger you are, the worse it can become."

It’s not personal; It’s just business

"Jackass" star Steve-O dated Nicole Richie for about five minutes in January, and now that he’s got a movie to promote, he’s milking it for all it’s worth.

Steve-O is telling anyone who will listen that his "relationship" with the walking skeleton was really more of a business relationship. The "Simple Life" star had just broke off her engagement with DJ AM and was hoping a couple of outings with Steve-O would get the tabloids to stop focusing on her nonexistent weight.

"I was being so careful not to offend her in anyway because I wanted to be in those tabloid magazines! I loved it! She would come pick me up. I don’t drive. I think she called the paparazzi, too," the "Wildboyz" star told Howard Stern. "[The photographers] were coming from all directions. I’m even giving interviews to the video paparazzi, and I thought ‘This is the kind ofscrutiny I want to be under. I want to be in the tabloids!’ I [bleepin’] loved it. I have no hard feelings. I don’t think she has any hard feelings for me."

Actually, she might have hard feelings for you now, Steve-O. You really live up to the title of your movie.

Hugh who?

Hugh Grant got a taste of the commoner’s life when he tried to enter a show during London Fashion Week with his girlfriend, Jemima Khan.

The 46-year-old actor and Khan were heading toward the VIP seats for the relaunch of ’60s clothing label Biba when employee Allyson Higgins refused to let him in, because VIP seats were only for A-listers.

It took Higgins a minute to realize it was the "Four Weddings and Funeral" star, but she said Grant handled the awkward situation with good humor.

"He looked at me, laughed, just kinda walked across and gave a shrug. Everyone started chuckling," Higgins told the Daily Mirror. "I’m sure he could see the complete panic in my eyes and he knew I made a mistake. I was so shocked I couldn’t even say sorry."
