Anderson Cooper snagged Angelina Jolie for her first sit-down interview since the birth of her daughter on May 27. In the interview, airing Tuesday on CNN’s "Anderson Cooper 360," Jolie talked a lot about her new baby with actor Brad Pitt and her two adopted children.
But that stuff is sooo People magazine. Cooper got to the important questions, such as whether the hot humanitarian plans to run for public office.
"It’s difficult, as much as I’d love to get more involved in different ways, I am able to work with everyone [as an actress], I’m able to do a lot from the position I stand on," the Oscar winner told Cooper. "Otherwise, I would have to take a side, and I don’t know I’d be very good. I don’t have the confidence. If that day comes, it would surprise me more than anyone."
Jolie demonstrated that she could run for office though, when Cooper asked her if the liberalactress finds it difficult to work with Republicans.
"Fortunately, my issues are not partisan issues," Jolie said. "Certainly, you learn to work with anybody — I’ve worked with the most hardcore Republicans. … I can’t wait until there’s maybe a more flexible group in office."
And when asked about the fact that she donates one-third of her big, fat Hollywood paychecks to charity, Jolie replied, "Yeah, well, I had a stupid income for what I do."
Speaking of Jolie, rumors that Britney Spears is pulling a Brangelina and planning to have her second child in Namibia proved to be false.
"Somebody told me that [Spears] is interested in coming to Namibia and that they would contact me in the next two weeks," Deputy Environment and Tourism Minister Leon Jooste told The Associated Press last week.
But on Friday, Spears’ New York-based publicist, Leslie Sloane Zelnik, denied the story.
And Namibia’s quest to become the hot destination for celebrities to pop out babies continues … .
Speaking of Spears, is Lindsay Lohan the new Spears-like protégé for Madonna?
Madonna, who had taken Spears under her wing until Spears decided to stop studying Kabbalah, is reportedly planning on recording a duet with Lohan, who recently admitted she was dabbling in the Jewish mysticism.
"They’re helping each other," an insider told Life & Style. "Madonna is giving Lindsay advice on her music career and Lindsay wants to work on a film with Madonna."
We don’t know what’s worse: The possibility of a new Lohan album or a new Madonna movie.
Speaking of Lohan, oil heir, Los Angeles partyboy, Paris Hilton cronie andinfamous Lohan-basher Brandon Davis has allegedly admitted himself into a rehab center for alcohol and cocaine abuse.
"Yes, I am checking into rehab today," Davis told In Touch on June 15. "I am on my way right now."
Davis reportedly checked himself into the $75,000-a-month Passages in Malibu, the go-to rehabilitation center for the rich and famous.
"He will remain there until he gets better," a source told Us Weekly. "This is something he needs and everyone is very hopeful."
This is Davis’ second trip to rehab. The first was in 2001.
A friend said Davis’ now-famous diatribe against Lohan, which was caught on video and streamed all over the Internet, was the final straw.
"Brandon must have watched that [Lohan] footage a thousand times," Davis’ friend told In Touch. "He can’t believe those words came out of his mouth and realized it was the drugs talking."email@example.com
