Police are seeking the public’s help in solving the gruesome 2001 stabbing death of a 25-year-old woman in the South of Market district.
Paula Brien’s body was found at 455 Harriet St. on June 18 at about 2 a.m. A truck driver making a delivery found her body and called cops.
Brien was last seen leaving a bar at Sixth and Market streets two hours before her body was found, police said. The bar no longer exists.
Her parents lived in San Francisco, but she had minimal contact with them in the two years prior to her murder.
Police have released a sketch of a possible suspect. He is described as a white man in his late 40s standing about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He had black hair and a tattoo of a skull and cross bones on his right upper arm.
