San Francisco chefs promote sustainable grub 

Sunday Supper: San Francisco’s master chefs were on hand in the Ferry Building Grand Hall on Oct. 2 for the ninth annual benefit for CUESA, the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture. Proceeds from the event — a four-course “whole-beast feast served family style” — support the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market and education programs.

Civic leaders enjoy a giant school lunch

Back to School Lunch: On Oct. 4 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in The City, hundreds of civic leaders participated in the 28th annual event benefiting the San Francisco Education Fund, the largest and oldest nonprofit dedicated to supporting public schools, students and teachers.

Benefit marks Michael Mina’s 20-year career

Michael Mina Anniversary Tribute Dinner: On Sunday at Michael Mina restaurant, the acclaimed chef celebrated his 20-year career, joined by top Bay Area chefs and colleagues who prepared, and enjoyed, a six-course meal. The event was a benefit for Ronnie Lott’s All Stars Helping Kids, which promotes safe and healthy learning for low-income children.
