Katy Perry’s filing for a divorce settlement with Russell Brand was apparently reached amicably. How amicably? The “California Gurls” singer even signed the papers with her, er, signature signature: a happy face over her last name.
And by last name, we mean her stage one: The pop star seeks to restore her legal name to the one she wasn’t using anyway, Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.
The British comic reportedly isn’t pursuing his right to claim half his wife’s earnings during the marriage of just over a year — which amounted to $44 million.
“This divorce is as amicable as it gets, and Russell was a mensch” — Yiddish for good guy — in negotiating, a source told TMZ.
We’re glad to hear that, since before the wedding, Russell made it known he didn’t want a prenup, believing it would take away from the authenticity of their union. Imagine if he turned around and demanded half of Katy’s cash?
Jennifer Aniston says the only reason people think she’s still pining for Brad Pitt is that the story is a moneymaker for the tabloids.
“The triangle with my ex-husband — and that there’s a feud there — it’s constant. It’s a story headline that won’t go away, but it’s a money thing,” the former “Friends” star explained to InStyle … without naming her opponent in the supposed “feud,” who is obviously Brad’s baby mama Angelina Jolie.
Jen says the press is just profiting from “a story that has nothing to do with reality.”
Far from being bitter over her former hubby’s glamorous relationship, she’s perfectly happy with her new Hollywood honey, Justin Theroux, thank you very much. Jen says she feels “joyful and peaceful” and her man “has great style.”
Peace, joy, style … in L.A., that’s like the ultimate trifecta!
Khloe Kardashian let it be known she and husband Lamar Odom were trying for a baby — but now that the basketball player has been traded from Los Angeles to Dallas, she says it’s for the best that she’s not pregnant or a new mom. The reality star muses to People that, “Looking back, I think everything happens for a reason.”
“I think, ‘Gosh, what if I did get pregnant last season or a few months ago?’” explains the “Khloe and Lamar” star. “Or what if I had a newborn baby and all this trade stuff happened? I don’t think I could have dealt with everything at one time. Doing this trade and my husband’s emotions and going through all that is so stressful.”
Not that they’ve given up on being parents.
“We’re definitely trying to have kids,” Khloe offers. “Everything will happen when it’s meant to be. Last season, we were much more documenting, ‘OK, when am I ovulating, when am I doing this?’ And it was very stressful to do it that way, so we’ve stopped. Lamar and I definitely are letting nature take its course.”
We certainly hope Khloe and Lamar’s baby dreams come true — and considering they’d known each other for a whole month before the wedding, maybe they were indeed meant to wait a while and strengthen their marital bond before starting a family. Good luck, kids!
