Shortly before her wedding to agent Jim Toth, Reese Witherspoon opened up to Vogue about her relationship and her life in the public eye.
“He’s wonderful,” the now-newlywed actress said. “He’s just a really great guy, and I feel really lucky.”
Her family — and her fans — agree.
“It’s so cute. Over the holidays I was at a department store in L.A. with my friends, and these three women from Oklahoma came up to me and they said, ‘Reese. We are so happy for yeeew. We liiike this guy for yeeew,’” the “Water for Elephants” star said. “And I said, ‘You do?!’ ‘Yes, ma’am. We think he is a niiice man. We think he is going to treat you well and be good to yeeew.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ So sweet! And I told them my mother likes him very much too.”
Reese said she isn’t fazed by fans who approach her: “I like people. And at the end of the day, we’re all just people, you know? We’re all just going through it. Nobody’s life experience is all that much different than anyone else’s. We’ve all had our share of heartbreak. It’s the universal language of life.”
Yeah, but not all of us have won an Oscar. Quit it with the “I’m just like yeeew” act, Reese!
Well, this is ... random. Socialite Kimberly Stewart, daughter of rocker Rod, is pregnant with Oscar winner Benicio del Toro’s baby. Whaaat? Who knew they had even hooked up?
“Kimberly is pregnant. Benicio is the father and is very supportive,” the 44-year-old actor’s rep told Life&Style magazine. “Although they are not a couple, they are looking forward to the arrival of the baby.”
Kimberly’s dad and stepmother, Penny Lancaster, welcomed son Aiden in February, so her baby will have a playmate close to his or her own age — who’s also an uncle.
Usher apparently hasn’t learned that it’s unwise to mix business with pleasure, even though doing so has led to some serious drama.
The R&B crooner’s marriage to his former stylist, Tameka Foster, famously led to him firing his mother from her job as his manager. (The two women didn’t get along, to put it mildly.)
Now he’s divorced and dating former Def Jam exec Grace Miguel, who’s working as, you guessed it, his co-manager and stylist. And she’s been telling him to fire his team and replace them with her people, according to Page Six sources.
The first to go is reportedly Usher’s longtime agent, Mark Cheatham, who has been with the singer since his career launched.
“I don’t know anything about it. I’ve been with Usher for a long time. I’ve been on great terms with Usher,” the agent said — but CAA no longer lists the star as a client.
“Mark is really upset. He’s been with him from the beginning. He thinks Usher will come back. He’s just waiting,” an insider said.
Reps for Usher and Grace reportedly didn’t respond to requests for comment. But it’s possible other heads could be rolling soon. A source said, “Usher will do whatever [Grace] wants him to do right now.”
Well, if he was willing to fire his own mom for a woman, nobody’s job is safe!
