Raiders to open preseason at home with the Black Hole

For the second straight year, the Raiders will kick off their preseason schedule with a home game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Tony Romo and Co. will invade the Black Hole the week of Aug. 8, with an exact time and date to be announced later. It will be the 29th preseason meeting between the two teams.

The Raiders’ other home preseason contest will come the in the third week of preseason action, the week of Aug. 22 against the Chicago Bears.

Oakland’s preseason road trips are to New Orleans to meet the Saints the week of Aug. 15 and to Seattle the week of Aug. 29 in the final tuneup before the regular season opens.

The Raiders have gone through a major overhaul this offseason as quarterback Carson Palmer, receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, safety Michael Huff and punter Shane Lechler and others all have new homes, while QB Matt Flynn, cornerback Tracy Porter and linebacker Kevin Burnett are among the new additions.

The NFL’s regular season schedule is expected to be released later this month.
