Police are still searching for the men involved in a shooting Sunday morning that critically injured a man.

The victim was walking in the first block of Ellis Street just after midnight when two men approached him and shot him multiple times in the torso and upper body, said police Officer Albie Esparza.

The shooters then fled on foot. No robbery appeared to take place, Esparza said. Police are investigating whether the victim knew the shooters.

Witnesses told officers that a third man may have been involved, but police have no leads on a third suspect at this time, Esparza said.

The victim, who police say is between the ages of 25 and 30, underwent surgery Sunday but remained in life-threatening condition Monday
