Pickup collides with N-Judah in Sunset

The driver of a pickup truck went to San Francisco General Hospital on Thursday after colliding with an N-Judah train in the Sunset district.

According to Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Alan Siegel, the crash happened at about 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of Irving Street and Seventh Avenue.

Police and Muni official are investigating the crash, which took more than 45 minutes to clear and caused backups to the system for hours. Many commuters took nearby buses, which were filled due to the backup.

Injuries to the driver are not considered life-threatening, according to police spokesman Sgt. Steve Mannina, who added that the driver was conscious and able to communicate with officers during interviews.

Mannina said the light-rail vehicle was traveling west on Irving Street and the truck was going north on Seventh Avenue when the two collided.

There were no other reports of injuries.
