Old-school City College campus to celebrate renovation

It was built in 1911, but it can withstand an earthquake from 1906.

The red-brick building at Masonic and Hayes, which houses the John Adams Campus of City College, has been remodeled and seismically renovated but still has that old-school façade, according to the latest newsletter published by the City College of San Francisco.

A grand opening of the campus is set for Feb. 24 and will have more than just top schools officials in attendance. Believe it or not, there will also be “lion dancers and musicians playing on Asian instruments,” the newsletter stated.

School of rock? Maybe not. But at least this building will refrain from shaking, rattling or rolling too much after the next big quake.
