Derek Norris belted a two-run homer and Travis Blackley had a career-high eight strikeouts as visiting Oakland won its sixth straight game by a score of 7-2.

Yoenis Cespedes delivered a three-run single during a five-run seventh inning as the Athletics improved to 15-2 over their last 17 games.

Blackley (3-2) gave up one run and five hits while cooling down a Toronto squad that scored 28 runs in a three-game weekend sweep of the Boston Red Sox.

Brandon Inge singled with two out in the second inning before Norris smashed a two-run blast to left off Brett Cecil (2-3) to give Oakland a 2-0 lead.

Travis Snider led off the bottom of the third with a homer to right to get the Blue Jays on the board.

Oakland’s seventh-inning uprising began when Brandon Hicks doubled with two out. Jemile Weeks followed with a run-scoring triple and Coco Crisp had an RBI double to make it 4-1.

Cespedes came up with the bases loaded and smacked a 3-2 pitch into left-center field. With the runners off with the pitch, Josh Reddick came all the way around from first.

Toronto’s J.P. Arencibia hit his 16th homer of the season in the ninth.

Cecil struck out a season-best eight in six innings. He gave up two runs, five hits and two walks.

NOTES: Weeks was 2-for-22 over his previous six games before having a two-hit game on Tuesday. … Snider’s homer was his second in two at-bats against left-handers after hitting just three in his first 159 major-league at-bats against southpaws. Snider homered against Boston’s Jon Lester on Sunday. … Cespedes fanned three times against Cecil before his big hit against Blue Jays reliever J.A. Happ. … Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista (wrist) could start swinging a bat later this week. He is currently on the 15-day disabled list.
