Newsom Tracker: Celebrating Jobs Now 

More than 3,600 unemployed residents have found work through Mayor Gavin Newsom’s highly praised Jobs Now program, which taps stimulus money to pay for 100 percent salaries for employees who are hired by local companies through the program.

And even though Jobs Now is on a lifeline, that’s not stopping the celebration. The mayor is holding a 9 a.m. event at City Hall with hundreds of participants from Jobs Now to prove to Congress just how successful this program has been.
