Muni passengers robbed by hooded hoodlums

Two separate Muni bus muggings that occurred a block apart near the Excelsior district last weekend might convince riders to leave their valuables at home.

The robberies were reported Saturday and Sunday evening, police said.

The first occurred in the 600 block of Geneva Avenue around 5 p.m. A victim said five suspects — four black males, three of them wearing hoodies, and a black female — robbed him on the bus of his phone, police said.

The following day in the 500 block of Geneva Avenue around 8:30 p.m. — three Hispanic males wearing black hoodies, one standing 6-foot, 3-inches tall — stole a victim’s wallet before running off the bus, police said.

No arrests have been reported.
