Monday mayhem in the Mission: Lively district becomes hot spot for robberies 

There were three robberies in San Francisco’s Mission district Monday, police said. A man was also robbed of his phone in the Haight.

26th Street and Bartlett Street
3:45 p.m. Monday

A 22-year-old man was pistol-whipped during a street robbery. Three teen thugs made off with his cellphone and backpack. The victim refused medical treatment despite suffering face bruising.

16th and Mission
10:20 p.m. Monday

A knife-toting hoodlum hopped out of a car, went to the victim’s car, placed the knife to the victim’s neck and demanded money. The hoodlum fled with a GPS device. Cops later arrested a suspect.

400 block of Hill Street
2:45 a.m. Monday

A 28-year-old man awoke to noises in his home. He then saw a burglar approximately in his 30s take a laptop from a table then flee out of the garage door. There has been no arrests.


Haight and Buchanan streets
4:20 p.m. Monday

A 22-year-old man was robbed of his cellphone at gunpoint. He was not injured.
