Man suffering life-threatening injuries after trying to flee robber

A 45-year-old man -- who initially fought off the crook who tried to mug him -- was beaten, stabbed and robbed Saturday by the thug and his female partner in crime, cops said.

Around 6:15 p.m., the 37-year-old crook attempted to rob the man at Jones and McAllister streets, police said.

The victim stabbed the crook and fled. The crook, now joined by a woman of unknown age caught up to the victim who was beaten to the ground, and kicked in the head and neck, cops said. The woman then stabbed the victim in the neck and the two criminals robbed him.

Cops arrested the male suspect and have identified the female, they said. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
