Man stabbed in armpit after requesting peace and quiet

A man trying to quiet down a loud argument in the Bayview early Friday was stabbed in the armpit for his efforts, cops said.

The 56-year-old victim observed a 30-year-old woman engaged in an argument with another person at the intersection of Newhall Street and Fairfax Avenue around 1:45 a.m. He asked the two to keep it down and was stabbed by the woman in his left armpit.

The victim walked several blocks to a pay phone and the woman fled. The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for his injury, which was not life threatening, police said. No arrest has been made.
