A man who was pulled over by San Francisco police allegedly jumped out of his car and tried to run away from cops in the Inner Sunset district Tuesday. But in the dash he forgot something important – his 12-year-old daughter.
The dad was arrested for resisting arrest, cocaine possession and child endangerment after bolting from a cop at Seventh and Irving streets just after 8 a.m., police said.
As the cop walked up to his car, the driver got out and tried to walk away. He smelled of marijuana and claimed he had a medical marijuana card, the cop said.
The man’s 12-year-old daughter then tried to get out of the car, which distracted the officer and allowed the driver time to make a run for it, police said.
“The man escaped from the officer, but he left his daughter behind,” police said.
Several cops responded and found the man. The cops said they found cocaine in his jacket, which he discarded while trying to escape.
Cops released his daughter to her mother, police said.
