Yet another reason to quit smoking.
A man was knocked out cold for his watch and cash by three hooligans in the Tenderloin on Monday night, police said.
The 52-year-old victim was exiting a liquor store in the 100 block of Eddy Street around 9:25 p.m. when he was approached by three men in their 20s, one of which asked the victim for a cigarette.
The crooks then stole the man’s watch, wallet and cash, police said, before punching him repeatedly in the head, knocking the victim out.
The hooligans fled on foot and no arrests have been made.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not life threatening, police said.
