Major BART delays during Wednesday evening commute

BART is experienced major delays during the Wednesday evening commute on the Millbrae line due to an equipment problem on the tracks, according to the transit agency.

Service for riders going to San Francisco International Airport, Millbrae and the East Bay was affected for several hours, starting just after 5 p.m..

The issue was reported just outside of San Bruno, according to a BART employee.

There were delays of 15 minutes or more throughout the evening commute and into the night.

As of 7 p.m. there was no estimated time was given for when normal service would resume.
