Kendra Wilkinson says she struggled with postpartum depression after giving birth to son Hank (named after hubby Hank Baskett) — but overcame it.

“It got pretty bad, [but] not to the point where I would harm my family. I was a great mom and did what I needed to, but I was definitely very depressed,” the mom of the 2-year-old told People, adding that being a mother was “a big change in life and it happened overnight.”

Pressure to recover her pre-baby body was reportedly also a factor.

“At the time I was doing whatever I could for the baby, but I lost myself and it was really frustrating,” the former “Girls Next Door” star said. “Being in the spotlight is a lot of pressure about losing the weight, [especially] coming from the Playboy world.”

Kendra says that postpartum depression is common and “needs to be talked about,” and that she’s now found “balance” in her life.

“Your baby is No. 1 100 percent of the time, but I do still take my time — you need to do that every now and then,” she said. “I’m back to being that Kendra that everyone knew at the Playboy Mansion, but a lot more mature and grown up. I’m more aware of life.”

Conservator Movement?

After her breakdown a few years ago, Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, took control of her affairs — and he remains conservator over the 29-year-old mother of two today. But she’s reportedly now fine with Dad running the show.

“Britney now recognizes that if her father hadn’t stepped in and taken the action that he had, well ... Britney is now crediting Jamie for saving her life,” a source tells Radar Online, adding, “Britney’s relationship with her dad is in a very, very good place now.”

And the “Femme Fatale” singer is apparently in a good place herself. “After Britney’s tour concludes, which will be at the end of this year, her doctors and advisers are going to meet and confer about how much longer the conservatorship should go on,” says the source, who speculates they could decide “to pull the plug in early 2012. It’s likely that Britney’s business affairs will still remain under control of the conservatorship, though, even if they determine that she no longer needs it for herself personally. The idea is that this will be a gradual transition for Britney to return to her life, on her own.”

The source dishes that beau Jason Trawick “has made it known that he wants to marry Britney. It’s just a matter of timing of the engagement — and if the conservatorship is lifted off Britney personally, well, it makes it a lot easier for Jason to propose.”

Weighty Tweet

LeAnn Rimes is not one to hold back on Twitter, especially when it comes to criticism of her weight loss. After Giuliana Rancic joined the chorus of voices expressing concern over the country singer’s increasingly skinny frame, LeAnn let her followers know how she felt.

“@GiulianaRancic hey, we should go to dinner sometime,” the newlywed posted. “You get criticized all the time for how small you are. You can see just HOW much I eat and maybe put a stop to this crazy ‘shrinking’ once and for all.”

Here’s the problem with celebrities using Twitter in lieu of a publicist: Sometimes when you’re criticized, it’s better to take the high road and say nothing at all.
